POLISHED CONCRETE
POLISHED CONCRETE
What is a Polished Concrete Floor?
A cast in situ concrete floor that is progressively densified, grinded, and polished to produce a beautiful finished surface. An easy to clean, environmentally friendly, and durable polished floor.
Where can I use it?
Polished concrete is considered to be a high-end finish where substantial wear and tear is anticipated. For example restaurants, retail outlets or even external terraces and patios.
What are the options?
- Cream finish results where the cement paste on the surface of the concrete is not removed, but is progressively polished to produce a creamy smooth appearance.
- Salt & Pepper finish is achieved by first grinding the cement paste off the concrete surface. Then penetrating the upper sand layers which are then polished to give a mottled, variable coloured effect.
- Exposed aggregate is the most difficult to achieve a consistent overall appearance. It requires aggressive grinding to get into the course aggregate particles, which are polished to give an industrial used appearance.
