What is Concrete Raft Foundation & Structural Slab Finishing?

The vast majority of buildings in the ME Region are constructed above a mass reinforced concrete raft foundation, with structural slabs cast thereafter as the floor levels of the building. Whilst all cast in situ concrete requires finishing, the level and accuracy together with the surface finish will depend on the design finish to be applied to it.

Where can I use it?

Predominantly for major building projects, but also aircraft hangars and warehouses where accuracy and a smooth surface are required.

What are the options?

• Smooth power trowel finished concrete, when properly finished provides a dense hard wearing riding surface for car parking, especially when a powder hardener is applied to increase the impact resistance.
• Alternatively, it can provide the perfect base for your decorative or protective epoxy or polyurethane paints.
